The Tate St Ives features a range of modern art exhibitions and, in itself, is a building worth a visit. The purchase of an Art Pass will gain access to the Tate, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the Leach Pottery. A hidden gem in the town is the St Ives Museum and for those interested in history a visit to the St Ives Archive Centre is a must.
Families will enjoy a day out at Paradise Park in nearby Hayle - with a large indoor play area set amongst beautiful gardens and numerous birds and animals to meet. Or how about the Cornwall Gold which is one of Cornwall’s leading 'FREE Admission' family holiday attractions
The range of beaches (some sheltered and ideal for families and sunbathing, others with good surf conditions) - all with golden sand are to be found in St Ives, Carbis Bay and Lelant. The south west coast path goes alongside the area and for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, there are cycle routes, boat trips, walking tours of the town, recreation grounds and a skate park.
Local facilities include a leisure centre with a swimming pool featuring a view over St Ives, a cinema and a theatre with a home-grown theatre company. The St Ives Guildhall hosts the annual St Ives September Festival along with various shows and events throughout the year.
